Frequently Asked Questions

The building committee is currently working with the designer on final plans for the interior and exterior. We anticipate having those plans completed by mid-November.

The committee will create a bid package once the final drawings are complete and approved. The committee will submit that bid package to potential contractors in late November, assuming there are no delays. We should have a fixed project amount in January. Our goal is not to exceed $1.5 million for the total project including parking, sewer, etc.

The committee is committed to design and build a facility that is as energy-efficient and environmentally friendly as possible. Solar panels, LED lighting, water-saving fixtures, etc. One of our committee members is LEED certified. LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) is an internationally recognized green building certification system,  providing third-party verification that a building or community was designed and built using strategies aimed at improving performance across all the metrics that matter most: energy savings, water efficiency, CO2 emissions reduction, improved indoor environmental quality, and stewardship of resources and sensitivity to their impacts.

Good question. We currently have approximately $750,000 appropriated for the building fund. We estimate we will need to raise another $500,000-$750,000 for the project.

The committee is going to look at various options to begin construction as soon as possible.  This includes developing in phases, where the interior lower level of the facility is built out at a later date, as well as extended parking.
